Why "The Upper Flame" ?

The name The Upper Flame is drawn from the biblical account in Acts 2, when the apostles were gathered in the upper room and the Holy Spirit appeared as flames, marking the beginning of bold obedience and transformation through Christ. Acts 2 serves as an invitation to trust God with what comes next and to step forward in faith, even when the path is uncertain.

In that same spirit, The Upper Flame podcast creates space for honest conversations with those who sense God calling them deeper. Just as Acts 2 calls believers to move with courage and conviction, Brittany and Karisha seek to ignite dialogue that goes beyond comfort and fear and toward a life aligned with His purpose.

Meet Brittany

Brittany is a faith-driven leader and passionate about creating space for honest conversations that challenge surface-level faith and invite deeper formation.

With a background in business, leadership, and mentorship, Brittany understands the cost of living with conviction in a culture that rewards comfort. Through The Upper Flame, she speaks to those who feel called to more — more obedience, more clarity, and more courage to live out their faith beyond performance. This space is for those who sense that comfort has become too costly and obedience is asking more of them.

Her heart is to create space for faith that is practiced, not polished. Through The Upper Flame, Brittany invites listeners into the refining work of obedience, discernment, and formation — choosing depth over display and truth over comfort.

"Obedience is hard, but your ‘yes’ to God impacts more than just your life."

Challenging comfort, confronting fear, and calling lives into alignment with His purpose

Meet Karisha

Karisha never set out to host a podcast, but she has always been known for asking hard questions, speaking with conviction, and refusing to follow the crowd. The Upper Flame was born out of late-night conversations with Brittany about God, purpose, and entrepreneurship—conversations that demanded honesty, depth, and courage.

Her vision for The Upper Flame has been shaped through stillness with God, time on the trail, Bible training, and walking faithfully through life’s challenges. Karisha knows that following God is not easy; she wrestles with her flesh and believes the world doesn’t need another polished faith story, but a real one—one that shares struggles alongside victories.

Passionate about truth and unafraid to challenge comfort zones, Karisha brings faith and fire together with authenticity, laughter, and bold obedience. If her story helps someone pursue God more fully, the time is worth it—and all the glory belongs to Him.

"Power comes in the activation of prayer."
